May 2008 - minimalism - this is what I call TOUGH ART - it is strong & solid - what you see is what you get - there is no room for any dispute - red geometric format - I used my signature colors for the color palette - they are bold & strong - division of space - line - I created one box like image with a square stock fill which comes with my art program - I changed all the settings on it so it would become a custom square fill - I then added B & W to the fill - the reason I used custom mode for the stock fill was because I wanted to obtain depth inside of it & I did achieve this - I then placed a black contour line around it in order to define its edges - then I duplicated it so I would have a total of 3 boxes - I placed them diagonally within the red geometric format - I laid them out so they would be equally spaced within the format also - the middle one's top left corner overlaps into the very center of the first box which I placed in the upper left corner of the piece - the bottom box overlaps into the middle one the same exact way as the middle box does with the first box - all 3 boxes are equally spaced within the red geometric format or background of the piece - these boxes divide the space within the piece - I created tension on a 2D picture plane by placing the boxes diagonally within the piece - you will notice that you cannot focus on any one area in the piece very long - you are continually forced to move from one area to another - this reason why is the tension created by a diagonal placement of the boxes - when ever there is a diagonal in any piece it will create tension on a 2D picture plane - I placed a black contour line around the entire piece - this line not only defines its edges of the piece but it also gives the piece a clean finished presentation - this line is the same width as the ones I used to define the edges of the 3 boxes inside the piece - I used the word perception in the title for this piece because of the depth in all 3 boxes - I am referring to depth perception because when anyone views this piece they have to deal with the depth in each box or all 3 jointly - this piece contains no clutter plus it is very clean & pristine

I love the dynamic quality of this work Moon. The burnt orange is lovely and your balance is sublime as usual. Excellent work. :)
