May 2008 - minimalism - this is a collaboration piece done with Deb Walker please click on her icon so you can see her gallery & all the different ways she uses her great talents - Deb made the fractal for this piece - the original image is the one on the right when you view the piece - it has not been seen until now - it has no title either thus the name for this museum piece - we have several more we want to do together - it took 2 solid days to make - the reason why is I am an extreme profectionist - if the piece does not work for me I will continue to work until I achieve the finished piece - you have no idea how many pieces I deleted - I was sending Deb my initial concepts for this joint piece by E-mail - you have no idea how many times we were on the phone also regarding this museum - now to the piece - gray geometric format - division of space - limited color palette & line - the wall for the museum is a ligher shade of gray than the background - I hand mixed all the non-colors & the matching red like color for the molding on the bottom of the wall in the museum - I then made a mirror image from the original fractal Deb made - I placed both the original & mirror image on the wall in the museum - I then placed a black contour line around the the images - they are of the smae width - these lines define the edges of both the piece - I then made the original fractal smaller & created a mirror of it also - I placed them together so I would have a 3rd piece to show in the museum - I placed it dead center on the floor below the 2 larger images - I placed a black contour line around this image - it is the same width as the ones I used for the other larger images - I defined the edges of the piece I placed on the floor in the museum - all the other black contour lines I used in this piece are of the same width but smaller than the frame like ones I used for the art pieces - these smaller lines define the edges of the wall in the museum - the hand mixed reddish color for the molding at the bottom of the wall & the one which defines the edges of the entire piece - I then chose a very clean font for the title of the museum - both Deb's & my last name plus the year the piece was made - I used all upper case letters - I then filled the letters & the year with black - I placed this info on the floor & lined it up so it would be the same length as the museum wall - this is a very clean & clutter free piece - it looks simple but it is far from being simple - I had to measure every part of the piece so they would work visually with on another - this also applies to the placement of each separate part in this piece - this one very strong & visually dynamic piece - it is & was an extremely difficult museum piece to make - both Deb & I are very happy with the results - we hope you will like it as much as we do
Fantastic red colours!!!! The blue is a nice accent and I like how the two top pieces are added together to create the bottom-most piece. It is very nicely placed and designed Nicely done LU Matt
Yes, this turned out very well. I am glad we did it this way ....It is beautiful! Love how you brought it all together Nan! I will be uploading my portion tonight. Am a little behind as I have been slightly ill since Sunday.
Hi Deb I have been really worried over this piece - my callmejett stuff is beating this in minimalism - it sat at the bottom of this gallery until this afternoon - kid you not - it is making me very upset to say the least - I love it & finally now people are ing it but that damn Stroke of Power or whatever its title is - is killing me - I'm now in competition with myself - can you believe it - my old art made in 2006 when I was learning is killing me here in this gallery you do not need to worry about starving me to death anymore cuz of this - I love the layout on this piece & your original fractal we used - you know how hard it was for me to get it like this - I'm going to do The Dragon's Eye next cuz I can set it up with the 2 structures in it - it will be pure Classical Formalism - this then will kick every one's butt - I love this piece so much cuz it tough art - this means very bold & it is definitely a kick ass 2D design layout - I have so much of this behind me & like I said I have been really worried - I'm glad we went this way also - thanks for believing in me on this one - I am sorry to hear you have been worse since Sunday - can you believe I'm actually trying to out do my old art that's going into callmejett - I've been stuck in that gallery for 2 days now - I sent you a note with a new piece I made for callmjett - under the piece is a link for a video - you will not believe all the pretty flowers in it - you will have to wait a bit before you hear the words in English - it is a spiritual video - I'm so happy to have found it & I know you will love all the flowers in it - let's see what happens with the piece in your gallery - this is going to be interesting to say the least - thanks again for believing in me regarding this layout - most people do not know how to do one like this - oh - a person wants to do an interview feature on me - can you belive it Nan
Hi My Moon Lover I having trying to make a perfect set of comments on your fabulous Halo - I wanted to make them as good as yours are on my pieces - thanks again I LU Your Moon
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
