May 2008 - minimalism - conceptual - I made this piece for Mother's Day - geometric format - hand mixed red & black palette - I used a stock texture in my art program to create this piece - I completely changed all of its settings & colors - this means then that I began to work with a custom fill - I then used a tool that is in my art program which is called an Interactive Fill Tool - I began to change the custom fill with this tool - once I obtained the image I wanted then I then changed the settings for the tool in order to get a part a pattern like image from the fill - I used then used mirror settings for the tool & worked with it to get a partial pattern - then I went back to using the same tool like I normally do & obtained a basic pattern like image which I wanted - I then had to work long & hard so I could have a completed pattern like image for a finished piece - I intentionally I left center of the pattern like imagery empty because my Mom is no longer alive - this then turns in to an emotional conceptual piece - I then placed a wide black contour line around the piece in order to define its edges - once I did this I then had a very clean & finished presentation for this piece
